The Middle East and North African (MENA) Politics group makes Exeter one of the UK’s largest groupings of scholars on the Middle East and North Africa. The interests of the group range from democratization in the Middle East and Palestinian refugees to the theme of Arab exile. Current research projects in the group cover politics and life in contested cities, salon democracy, the North African Diaspora in Europe, Moroccan politics and state-society relations in Syria.
